Information about the cemetery

The cemetery has been overseen by Dishforth Parish Council since the late 1800s the land having being donated to the Parish Council by the Swiers family.

NB: Fees are currently under review.

Notes:

Fees do not include labour.
Non-Residents of the Parish – Double Fees or at the discretion of the Parish Council.
Row A is reserved for the Swiers Family.

Upkeep of Memorials

The upkeep of all Memorials is the responsibility of the OWNER not the Parish Council. It is recommended that owners arrange Insurance cover on their Memorial.

Three  yearly safety checks will be carried out by DPC, and owners informed of any necessary remedial repairs.

Vases / Floral Tributes

No Vases, Flowers or similar items should be placed on top of, or near to the Cremation Tablets in the Garden of Rest or on the grass in front of the other Headstones without permission from the Parish Council.  Any unauthorised items will be removed and taken into safe keeping for subsequent collection.

We respectfully seek your help in keeping the Cemetery peaceful, tidy and safe for all users with dead flowers and other rubbish being removed and placed in the Bins provided.

Regulations Relating to Memorials

A copy of the Byelaws and Regulations is available from the Parish Council.  please contact the parish clerk for further details or a copy of the regulations.

All Memorials must be placed in accordance with the latest specifications of the Code of Practice of the National Association of Memorial Masons.

A Certificate of Compliance to the NAMM Code of Working Practice and/or a 30 Year Guarantee covering the fixation of the Memorial must be issued to the owner of the Memorial with a copy being supplied to the Parish Council too, with clear details on both copies of the Grave Number and the Masons’ Signature.
